NP: Swing Set - Jurassic Five
I'm finally updating my blog. It's been awhile, to be sure, but I've been rather busy writing essays and studying Nihongo.
Anyway, happy November 19th. I'm currently working on expelling the remnants of a respitory viral infection from my system. Sociology just finished, leaving me pondering the evolution of the American family. I found it interesting to learn the nuclear family, now heralded by Dobson and the Christian right as "the way America should be," was opposed by their equivalents in the 50's when it was first institutionalized. The conservatives of that day viewed anything less than the extended family an attack on fundamental American values. Interesting how they don't seem concerned about any one institution for its own merit, but rather view change as the enemy.
I'm eating lunch with Ben and Mr. Martin at Toy's Thai today, which makes me very happy. Toy's has great Phad Thai Kai, and I haven't seen Mr. Martin in two months. He's one of the few Christian men around here I respect. After all, he's the one who got me into logic in the first place, and without logic, I might be *gasp* irrational. I owe him a lot.
Bah, thinking about lunch is making me hungry, and I still have another class to attend ere I may feast. At least the class won't be difficult. All I have to do is listen to speeches and talk to Professor Elkins about my essay. The rough draft is due today. For me, that means turning in an incomplete paper, as I never revise my essays. However, if she wants the whole thing, I'll tell her I'll bring it Friday and she can consider it the final draft. I don't want to waste paper.
Away go must I now.
