Explanation Mark - The Books

I ended up cancelling my order for Lappy. The LACLinux people didn't reply to my query sent a week ago regarding my order status, so I figured they have more important things to worry about. I'm rather disheartened by this, as it's now highly unlikely I'll get a lappy before next semester starts, but c'est la vie.

Work is okay. Not great, but not miserable.

Oh, I added a few more links in the "Amusements" column. I enjoy those webcomics and thought you might, too.

My short story is 99% completed. I have to read through it again before I give it the final OK, but I think it turned out well. Now that break is just around the corner, it's time to focus on writing more stuff. Stuff for myself.

But first things first: finish fiction portfolio, take finals, write "Yolteotl" poem for seminar, vegitate.

This break should be fun, I think. My love-hate relationship with Christmas fell on the "love" side this year, which is nice. The past few holiday seasons landed on "hate."

Of course, walking on broken glass isn't good for anyone.

Lover's Lie - Veda

It's official, kids: The Chillout Sessions are a part of KCSU's Spring 2006 schedule. I didn't get the ideal time slot, but Sunday nights from 11:00-1:00 still suit me quite well. For those of you ignorant of the show plan, the Sessions will involve the best in folk, alt country, and downtempo. People at the station are actually excited about it, mostly because Damien Rice will be involved. I'm meeting with Nick on Thursday to get my promo productions lined up. Patrick, you should train as a DJ so you can co-host. w00+!

Four days of classes, but I've a lot to do for them. A keyboard final tomorrow, a 1500-word research paper on Hamlet's father on Wednesday, a sightsinging final on Thursday, a writing workshop Thursday, a writing workshop Friday, and now work. I trained with Night and Day yesterday and am officially in charge of floor II of the Wells Fargo building. After a month of unemployment, it will prove slightly difficult remembering to go in.

Finals week should be easier.

I think I want pizza for lunch, but I must first appease the parking gods with an offering. See you all at the other end of the week.
