Jolene - Cake
Well, that wasn't worth it. I seem to be finding this out more and more this semester.
Having just finished my Asian Civ exam, I realized how completely useless my ridiculous amount of stress was. The test was nothing more than I could handle, and I was adequately prepared. I got worked up over nothing. At this rate, I'm going to give myself ulcers over needing a new eraser for my pencil. Unfortunately, this revelation seems to have come slightly too late. I think I feel myself getting sick again.
I realized also how completely unpleasant it is to have a mosquito bite on the back of one's heel. I get that irritating itching/pain sensation whenever I walk. It's enough to make me want to butcher infant sea anemones.
Off to the student center for a refreshing Immune Booster smoothie!

me again.
i think maybe you misunderstood me. i was a little confusing reading back.
words can be beautiful in and of themselves. there is an element of beauty in them. see the poetry of e.e. cummings. ("i sing of olaf glad and big" or "when god lets my body be".) and i love sigur-ros, and joyelectric. im afraid that in trying to make my point i overstated myself.
my favorite beautiful things are simple. but you're right. bach's fugues are incredibly intricate, and only one example of the myriads of beautiful complex things. but all of those complex things can at the same time be seen as simple. take a flower for instance. perfect in the tinyest detail, yet overall simple in composition. in that sense, beauty is in simplicity. the thing to avoid is busyness.
i never meant to offend you. i enjoy your blog: you're a gifted writer. i just think that sometimes you sound a little drippy. you seem to be trying to hard.
for what its worth.
best,

mosquitos have been attacking me violently as of late.
a week or so ago one was in my room and it bit me 5 times before i squashed it (as witnessed in that days blog entry) and then two days ago, i believe it was, one was in my living room and began attack on the opposite arm of the first attack...also bit the skin of both clavical bones. (at leas they are uniform, no?)
ive also had at least two bouts with a mosquito in my car. quite distracting/dangerous.
bu go ahead...complain about one bite....i'll just sit here and smile, knowing youre simply not used to this sort of humidity.
(gosh..i sound REALY arrogant and "look at me" in this, dont i? i'm sorry)
